Waupaca County court records, Wisconsin, are available through several channels. WaupacaCourt.us allows for quick access to public information on court cases. Additionally, records can be searched through the state's official online court system tools, directly at the clerk of court's office, or via public terminals in the county courthouse.

Waupaca Court System & Jurisdictions

In Wisconsin, there are no separate district or magistrate courts in the traditional sense. Instead, each county has a Circuit Court — a court of general jurisdiction that handles virtually all categories of cases. Waupaca County has one such court.

Waupaca County Circuit Court handles:

  • Criminal cases — from minor offenses (misdemeanors) to serious crimes (felonies)
  • Civil lawsuits, including small claims (up to $10,000)
  • Family cases — divorce, custody, alimony
  • Probate cases — estate administration and guardian appointments
  • Traffic violations and municipal cases
  • Juvenile cases

Appeals from the Circuit Court go to the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, and then to the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Appellate court records are available through the WSCCA search system.

The clerk of court maintains a register of documents, prepares records of decisions and monetary judgments, and ensures the functioning of the jury system.

Waupaca Court Calendar & Upcoming Hearings

The schedule of court hearings for today, tomorrow, or the current week can be viewed through the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access (WCCA) system. This is a statewide platform supported by the Consolidated Court Automation Programs (CCAP).

To find the schedule for Waupaca County:

  1. Go to the case search page of the Wisconsin court system.
  2. Select Waupaca County from the list of counties.
  3. Use the date filter to see scheduled hearings.

Those without internet access can use the public WCCA terminal directly in the courthouse. The terminal displays the same information as the online version.

For specific hearing times, contact the clerk of court's office by phone.

How to Get a Copy of a Waupaca Court Document

There are three main ways to obtain a copy of a court document.

Online

Through WCCA, you can view basic case information for free: parties, dates, case type, status. However, full-text documents are usually not available online — you need to contact the clerk of court to obtain them.

In Person or by Mail

Submit a request through the records request page of the Clerk of Courts office. Note: the clerk of court does not process requests for video camera records, police reports, or suspect information — only court documents.

What to include in the request:

  • Full name of the party or case number
  • Type of document (court decision, transcript, sentence, etc.)
  • Whether a certified copy is needed

Mailing address for requests:

Difference between copies: an uncertified copy is simply a printout of the document. A certified copy has the clerk of court's seal and verifies the document's authenticity. A certified copy is usually required for submission to other courts or government agencies.

Some records have restricted access — juvenile cases, certain family cases, and sealed materials are not issued without a court order.
